Press Release

Marston Raue, a Mobile native, recently completed a summer internship in the Washington, D.C. office of Congressman Bradley Byrne (R-AL).

During her internship, Raue assisted with legislative and administrative tasks including answering the phones, giving visitors tours of the U.S. Capitol, assisting with research, running errands, and attending hearings.

Byrne said: “It was a real honor to have Marston serve as an intern in my office this summer. Her positive attitude and dedicated work ethic made her a valuable addition to our team. My staff and I wish Marston all the best as she completes her studies at the University of Alabama.”

Raue is a senior at the University of Alabama, where she is majoring in Communication Studies with a minor in Political Science. She is planning to graduate from the University of Alabama next May.

Raue said: “I am extremely appreciative to have been given the opportunity to work with Congressman Byrne and his staff over the summer. This experience has given me tools and knowledge that I couldn’t have acquired in a college classroom.   I was so blessed to be a part of such a dedicated team and cannot wait to apply the skills I have learned to my next endeavor.”

Congressional internships are a valuable experience for students interested in the legislative process or the federal government.  Congressman Byrne accepts interns throughout the year. All interns must be in college or a recent college graduate at the time of their internship. Click here for more information on the internship process.
