Byrne Statement on General James Mattis

Congressman Bradley Byrne (R-AL), a member of the House Armed Services Committee, issued the following statement regarding President-elect Donald Trump’s decision to nominate General James Mattis as Secretary of Defense.

Byrne said: “General Mattis has a clear record of serving our nation with steadfast leadership, unwavering integrity, and selfless dedication. He has shown both a great appreciation for the true toils of conflict and the clear ability to defeat an enemy. As a member of the Armed Services Committee, I look forward to working with him to rebuild our military and defeat radical Islamic extremism.”
