Press Release

In honor of National Library Week, Alabama Congressman Bradley Byrne (AL-1) sent a shipment of new books to the Washington County Public Library in Chatom and the Flomaton Public Library in Escambia County.

Congressman Byrne’s office used the Surplus Books Program at the Library of Congress to provide the free books. The Surplus Books Program includes books that are not needed for the Library’s own uses, and the books can be donated to eligible organizations and institutions.

Byrne said: “In honor of National Library Week, I am pleased my office could provide a collection of books to the Washington County Public Library and the Flomaton Public Library. These are new books which I believe will make a great addition to the library’s collection. I encourage my constituents to take advantage of the great resources provided by our area’s public libraries, and I will continue to support all of our libraries during my time in Congress.”
