Press Release

Chason Roley, a Bay Minette native, recently completed a four month internship in the Washington, D.C. office of Congressman Bradley Byrne (R-AL).

During his internship, Roley assisted with legislative and administrative tasks including answering the phones, giving visitors tours of the U.S. Capitol, assisting with research, running errands, and attending hearings.

Byrne said: “Chason is an outstanding young man who has served the people of Southwest Alabama exceedingly well during his time in my office. I have received numerous compliments from those who Chason led on a tour of the U.S. Capitol, and he has been professional, attentive, and friendly each and every day. My staff and I wish Chason all the best as he completes his studies at Auburn.”

Roley, the son of Anthony and Margaret Roley, is a senior at Auburn University, where he is majoring in Communications and Business Administration. He is planning to graduate from Auburn in August.

Roley said: “I am extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to intern in Washington D.C. for Congressman Byrne and his staff. The knowledge and experience that I have gained while here has been invaluable.  I cannot wait to apply what I have learned in D.C. toward the next chapter of my life.”

Congressional internships are a valuable experience for students interested in the legislative process or the federal government.  Congressman Byrne accepts interns throughout the year.
