Byrne Honors Martin Luther King, Jr.
Washington, DC – January 20, 2014 – On Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Representative Bradley Byrne (AL-1) released the following statement to honor the life of the great civil rights leader.
Byrne said: “Martin Luther King, Jr. had a dream of equality among all people that he made a reality through peaceful activism and courageous civil disobedience. He took on the status quo and inspired us to be better than we were, or ever thought we could be. We remember Dr. King’s legacy today as one united nation under God, thankful for his leadership and sacrifice.”
Congressman Byrne observed Martin Luther King, Jr. Day earlier this morning at an event at Bishop State Community College in Mobile. Byrne spoke at the event as an invited guest of Bishop State Community College President Dr. James Lowe.
